A local group of volunteers dedicated to making Haddington a brighter place.
Their efforts has won Haddington the Beautiful Scotland Gold Medal and Best Town in the overall category for RHS Britain in Bloom.

East Lothian Area Partnership (Haddington and Lammermuir)

Set up to be the local voice of East Lothian Partnership and strengthen links between communities and area-based services. The Partnerships are the main opportunity for local communities to contribute to the East Lothian Plan.

East Lothian Council (ELC)

ELC is the central council hub for East Lothian, covering every aspect of planning, services and community life in the area.

East Lothian Courier

Haddington-based weekly newspaper reporting on events and issues at the core of community life.

East Lothian Learning Partnership

Concerned with the promotion of learning opportunities for everyone in the local community. It seeks to find ways for learning to lead to achievement for young people, adults, and communities.

Friends of the River Tyne

The aims of the group are to raise public awareness and help develop the appearance/ecology of the river system.

Haddington and District Amenity Society (HADAS)

Established in 1996, the Haddington and District Amenity Society is a voluntary body of committee members dedicated to the celebration, promotion and protection of the Royal Burgh of Haddington.

Haddington Business Community Partnership

Haddington Business Community Partnership is responsible for keeping the Haddington economy thriving by acting as the voice for local businesses and supporting the initiative to attract visitors to the town.

Haddington Community Cinema

Established to provide Haddington and surrounding villages with a cinema experience accessible to all.

Haddington Farmers’ Market

Widely recognised as the ‘friendly market’, Haddington Farmers’ Market is a monthly delight, a “gem” – with a wide range of local and seasonal food, drinks, gifts and crafts.

The market is situated in picturesque Court Street, in the county town of Haddington, East Lothian and is held on the last Saturday of every month (except the December market which is before Christmas) from 9am – 1pm

Haddington Garden Trust

The Trust’s aims are to preserve Haddington House Garden as an open precinct for the enjoyment of the public and to encourage the study of old Scottish gardens and gardening methods.

Haddington Pipe Band

Started in 1981, the band was the Scottish Pipe Band of the Year in 2009. Now a fully established community organisation and registered charity, it is seen as an institution in Haddington.

Haddington Rotary Club

Haddington Rotary Club is an essential part of the fabric of Haddington, and in 2010 celebrated 50 years of service to our community. Members come from wide variety of backgrounds and support many local and international organisations and provide assistance to many deserving causes.

Haddington Twinning Association

Organises and promotes twinning activity between Haddington and Aubigny sur Nère in France.

John Gray Centre

The John Gray Centre houses East Lothian’s Archaeology, Museum, Archives & Local History and the Haddington Library. The centre encourages the people of East Lothian to explore and engage with the history of the community and develop East Lothian Council’s heritage services.

Knox Academy

The Academy is Haddington’s non-denominational, co-ed secondary school, dedicated to John Knox.
The campus is extensive and houses excellent facilities after major refurbishment works in 2005.

Lammermuir Larder

A volunteer-led community food initiative to help people in the area who are experiencing difficulties feeding themselves and/or their families.  This is a confidential, non-judgemental initiative whose aim is to make sure that no one in this ward is ever without food.  Further information and a referral form can be obtained here

Lammermuir Tours

Lammermuir Tours is a guided hillwalking service Located just a short drive from Haddington, Ideal for local people or visitors wanting to experience a breathtaking sense of space, in beautiful surroundings, and probably the best place to see and understand why East Lothian is such a marvellous place, with so much to offer.

Lamp of Lothian Trust

The Trust is a charity, founded by the late Duchess of Hamilton to bring together “a whole community” by restoring some derelict buildings at the south end of Haddington and making them available for community use.

New Beginnings Club East Lothian

We began in 2008 as a gardening group….. and by 2011 we wanted to do so much more. So the seed was sown that we form our own club.
Since then, the new beginnings club has grown and grown and is fast becoming the friendship tree we wished it to be!

Our Community Kitchen

Our Community Kitchen exists to address isolation and loneliness in the Haddington and Lammermuir area by welcoming people to Haddington Bowling Club on a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for a 3-course home-cooked meal and allowing friendships to form naturally.

Poldrate Arts and Craft Centre

A registered charity whose purpose is to promote and encourage the study, practice and knowledge of the visual arts and crafts in East Lothian.
